With contenders steadily dropping from the championship race, singapore represents an important race for both drivers. While Atomic Lambo has had the upperhand over Flouncy for the majoriy of the season, the second half of the season has historically been a Flouncy stomping ground, something hard to dispute after his epic comeback last season to take the championship.
Singapore is a tough race to predict if for no other reason than there are numerous corners each lap where a driver can come unstuck, even drivers as capable as Atomic Lambo and Flouncy. Singapore isn't just a circuit likely to swing in the favouir of Flouncy, it's most definitely not an Atomic Lambo track. Of all the circuits the championship has visited, only Suzuka, the next race, is worse for Lambo. Here at Singapore, his average finishing position is 4.33, two places down on Flouncy's 2.33. That's not to say running Flouncy close is out of the question. Lambo is known for his speed around the tight and twisties of Monaco, a circuit not a whole lot different in makeup to Singapore, so if anything his lack of pace at this the only night track is bemusing.
A darkhorse is the current qualifying record holder by a long margin, bobaj0r. It's still unknown whether or not he will return to the drivers seat this season and if does he'll once again be odds on favourite to take the pole and the win.
TurrbalTerror has also had good speed around this circuit but has been unable to translate that into success in the race, being involved in race destroying incidents the two occasions he has raced here. He has however shown good practice speed, consistently setting times lower than bobaj0r's qualifying record, which in itself is 8 seconds faster than the next fastest lap of this circuit.
Thats not to write off the other competitors either. New Ferrari driver ET ROM will be looking to improve his fortunes after Monza, and Modz85 will no doubt be seeking a podium finish to back up his evident speed from Monaco. Throw into the mix the everfast HolyGhost79 likely charging from back in the pack and the current SuperRace leader at this circuit, Eradicator84 and this race is looking exciting. Usually it doesn't stop there. It was at this circuit roxas3sora3 achieved his only podium finish to date, an amazing 2nd place, from third on the grid, albiet 5 seconds off pole, but still 4 seconds ahead of 4th place.
If grid field spread is anything to go by, this is the most difficult track on the calendar and it presents an opportunity for everyone to roll the dice and see where their luck takes them.
