Italian GP Preview

This weekend sees the atomicf1 circuis head to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Italian Grand Prix.  the 4.250 km circuit is one of a decreasing number of classic European venues left on the Calendar and is notorious for it’s car mad fans, the tifosi.

Monza is another “Atomic Lambo” specialist circuit, where typically he likes to dominate, such as Monaco and Canada.  His record here isn’t so great though with an average finishing position of 3rd, although he has sat on pole for every race here.  The other drivers to have won here are Flouncy and the likely returning bobaj0r.  Looking at past results at this circuit atomicf1.com expects Atomic Lambo to again occupy pole position, and while SuperGrid™ suggests the Renault driver should enjoy a full second gap to second place, it’s expected that Flouncy should run him much closer for first place honours and if the current points leader returns, he too will likely challenge.  TurrbalTerror remains an unknown quantity at this circuit, having not raced here since season 1, he should also use his Mercedes powered car to challenge for a front row start.

Expect a few dramas as cars try and file through the tight turn one, Variante del Rettifilo, as previously this has been a place where collisions occurs.

Got home from work yesterday to no internet. What's a guy to do but start Steam in offline mode and run laps all night. I can tell it's going to be one of those rounds. Practice all week, thinking I have some good speed then have a disasterous race and everyone is faster than me in a straight line. It's all fun though, just glad to be back in the comp.

    "Tifosi" is Italian for "bogan".
